Medicine, healthcare, and medical culture for too long have adhered to the standards of the “old way”. Too often it is said that a practice or a belief that has been held for many years is the right way simply because of the practices longevity. The advent of the Internet and social media has allowed information to be produced at a faster rate than at any other time in history. Medicine is evolving every single day, and it can be difficult to keep up. Medschoolmedic exists to be a resource for current, up-to-date emergency medical practices, healthcare information and policy, and a check on modern medical culture. Medschoolmedic will focus on evidence-based medicine (EBM) and refute eminence-based medicine. We believe that healthcare policy can be complicated, and we aim to simplify policy issues so that everyone can understand them. We will address complex issues within medical culture and ask difficult questions about current medical practices.
